Anne Stine Ingstad

Acclaimed Viking scholars, the Ingstads pieced together their story from old sagas, the researches and guesswork of others, and from their own hypotheses.

Some thirty years ago they made their discovery, that “Vinland,” that land of hope and plenty, was none other than our own Newfoundland. The Ingstads were the driving force behind unearthing the Viking settlement in Northern Newfoundland. Continuing to actively research this fascinating subject, they have authored numerous pivotal works on the Vikings.
