Approaches to Literature: Themes
One of the most successful approaches to the reading and study of literature is the familiar thematic approach.
The thematic approach gives students a focal point from which to look at literature. Also, the thematic approach enables the anthologist to group selections of literature around one main topic or a variety of topics. Two broad themes used in this anthology include: People: Creatures of Diversity, and Canada: A Land of Diversity.
